DRL Engineering Selects Tsunami Products for Large-Scale Atmospheric Water Generation at New Texas Refinery
DRL and Tsunami leadership teams together in front of Tsunami Typhoon, including Owner/Founder of DRL, Dave Luetchford and DRL Refinery Operations Manager, Urban Showe
Houston-based DRL Engineering has selected Tsunami Products as its sustainable water technology partner for its new 80,000 barrel-per-day refinery currently under construction in Taft, Texas.
The facility will incorporate Tsunami Products’ large-scale Typhoon atmospheric water generation system to produce both potable and process water onsite. By harvesting moisture directly from the atmosphere, the system will provide an additional sustainable water source for refinery operations while helping reduce demand on conventional freshwater supplies.
Water availability is becoming an increasingly important consideration for industrial development across Texas and other water-constrained regions. For large industrial facilities, long-term water planning now involves not only determining how much water is required, but also identifying resilient and sustainable sources capable of supporting operations throughout the life of a project.
DRL Engineering’s decision to incorporate atmospheric water generation into its industrial water infrastructurereflects a broader shift toward decentralized and diversified water supply. Large-scale AWG technology can help industrial users add onsite water-production capacity, strengthen water resilience, reduce pressure on traditional freshwater resources, and support corporate ESG and water-sustainability objectives.
This project represents an important milestone for Tsunami Products and the continued expansion of atmospheric water generation into large-scale industrial applications. We appreciate DRL Engineering’s confidence in our technology and look forward to supporting the development of a more sustainable and resilient approach to industrial water supply in South Texas.
